Sheaf Valley Gardens - Urban Tandoori Garden

Mark and Clare's Urban Tandoori Garden

Mark and Clare wanted to turn the wholly neglected eyesore behind his Sheffield terrace into a garden of culinary delights, a place for relaxation, a place for entertaining. The design for this space in anchored around an outdoor tandoori oven built into a combined seating and food preparation area. The space is contemporary in design with funky horizontal trellising all around. Work was progressing well until the Ica Age fell upon us again in January 2010. Finishing off and planting will begin in spring 2010 (due to the client own relaxed timetable) Delights will include 1/4 standard apple, pear and plum trees in large planters, hardy container happy soft fruits such as Tayberries and Lingonberries, an olive tree and bay tree and lots of domestic and exotic herbs plus 'maybe' a hardy banana.
